Staff and volunteers of Living Free have created a 365 Devotional Flip Calendar. What is Living Free? Living Free offers restorative care to women who find themselves working through addictions, post-incarceration, abuse, depression, etc. We offer women a variety of avenues to receive support, encouragement, friendship, and education. We have one residential house right now that can house up to 5 women and a resource center called the Beacon that we hold classes etc in. We see an overwhelming need for this ministry in our community here in North Iowa. This calendar is designed to inspire, encourage, and to help Living Free raise funds to support its ministry. The calendar can be enjoyed by both women and men and is perpetual, so you can use it year after year.  The cost is $20 a calendar. CURRENTLY ON SALE FOR $10!  Examples of Devotions in the Flip Calendar:

  • “May the God of Hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans 15:13

    • If you have breath, you have hope. God is the God of hope. Don’t give up! Keep trusting Him. Keep moving towards Him. Ask Him to fill you with Himself. His very essence is love and hope. Amazing, He loves us so much He even empowers us to hope and move closer to Him, just ask. He is as close to us as our breath. The lie is that He is far off and distant, impatiently waiting for our performance to meet His expectations so He can then sweep in and save us. He is always wooing and pursuing. His heart of fierce love is offering hope to us today. Just ask. CM
  • ...and the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned to wine.  He did not realize where it had come from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew.

      John 2:9

Have you ever noticed how Jesus seems to hang out with “the help” more than the “important people”? In the account of the wedding at Cana the bride and groom, the guests and overseers, the “important people”, knew nothing about the miracle that propelled Jesus into his ministry. Guess who had a front row seat to God’s glory show?; The ones who took orders; the ones who served; the ones who looked to the needs of others; the ones who followed Jesus’ directions. (MLO)

Sometimes I forget that standing in the wings and serving is often the best place to see God’s miracles close up!
